I used to be a murderer and a thief. How else could i have- OOPS! Silly me; wrong game.

I’ve been trying for weeks to have an opportunity to sit down with Rygar for Nintendo NES.  The arcade game was great.  Fantastic even and although the Nintendo NES version might be watered down considerably there is obviously some redeeming factors.

First of all it has this really weird backstory.  Weird names like Argool and and Garloz pepper the story.  A king name Ligar started a war with a Holy Place.  And you’re some guy who is setting off to set things straight.

Mountains, monsters, items.  It’s all here.  Great music even.  Humans want and need adventure.  Even a road trip is an adventure.  Going on an adventure can purge you of poisonous behaviors or thoughts.  Rygar is a great game, even if I don’t have the opportunity to dive into it.

I just bought Rygar, Wrecking Crew and a few other games from http://www.pedrogames.com/.  5 games = $10 shipping, which isn’t that bad since most sellers (including Pedro on single games) will charge $3 – $4.

I’ve been thinking about re-tiling my bathroom with the sunset from Rygar… it just looks so cool:

The NES version kinda looks like a pink football…

The SEGA Master System version (which I never knew existed) kinda looks like an evil pumpkin:

The arcade one looks the best!  But it would probably take thousands of tiles, and I’m lazy, and I’ll probably mess it up some how.  So maybe Rygar wouldn’t be the best way to decorate a bathroom… because….

The Japanese art for the game speaks for itself!
